Heallthy You Challenge Update - 01/29/08

Normally, I'm not able to post during the day, but I'm working at home this afternoon (me and the Sears repairman), and I realized I hadn't taken a break since I walked in the door! Whew!

Okay, this week's progress:
1) I'm a happy girl. No specific reason, just happy.
2) My new gym finally opened, and I went both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday morning I had the whole place to myself. It was wonderful.
3) I'm making minor progress with the water. I finally realized I was not approaching the solution in true tippy toe fashion--small, incremental changes. So for now my focus is on getting 4 glasses of water each day, minimum. We'll add more in a few weeks.
4) I'm at 930 minutes on my cardio challenge. I should make my goal with about 30 minutes to "rollover" to February.
5) That nasty scale showed me at a 1-pound gain for the week! Boo hiss! If I'd actually *had* 3500 extra calories to enjoy during the week, I wouldn't be miffed at all, but considering I did pretty well exercise and food-wise, I'm chalking it up to water weight, muscle weight, or a governmental conspiracy.

Have a happy and healthy week everyone!

Hi Cammy, I think you have had a great week no matter what the scale says (maybe we should all take a break from that thing! :) )

I loved reading your meme answers...ah, the turnips! I didn't choose one for my produce-of-the-week. I may not!

Hi Cammy! I'm sure the one pound is just water weight. When I discovered that not drinking enough water caused water weight gain, I was shocked. I think once you start getting your 8 glasses a day it won't be an issue anymore. Good luck with your goals. I'm sure you'll do great!

Hey, Cammy! Thanks for checking out my blog and leaving such a nice comment. I really appreciate the feedback!

Don't worry about a one pound weight gain if you know you've been doing your best. And if you haven't been doing your best, then just jump back on the wagon (so to speak)! It sounds like you've really got the right idea with taking small steps.

Sounds like you are really doing great with exercise and water in-take (can't get motivated to get my 8 glasses/day).

Keep on keeping on and stay Happy!

How fun to be happy for no specific reason! I think that's the best success I've read all week. Sometimes I just grin to myself because life, with all its ups and downs, is still just magical.

I used to struggle with water. Now I use a 1.5L bottle, fill it about 1/3 full and freeze it. Each morning I fill it up, it stays cold until mid-afternoon and that's about the time I finish it up.

It was really hard for me to get used to drinking all that water a day. Now that I have been drinking water all day, I don't even crave anything else. Good luck!

"...I'm chalking it up to water weight, muscle weight, or a governmental conspiracy."

I'm definitely voting for the last one! :)

It seems like this is the week for people to work hard and not see a great deal of results. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this simply means that we'll all lose double what we normal do *next* week.

In the meantime, I think the fact that you are markedly happy this week is a wonderful step towards a wholly healthy life. Good for you!

I'm glad to hear that you have had a good week even though you had a gain. Just remember muscle weighs more than fat and you are become more muscular.

You are doing great and I'm sure that pound was merely water or muscle, etc......because you are doing your exercise. Have a good rest of your week!

Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog, it's nice to feel so welcome!

As for the scale- I say it's a government conspiracy too! They're always trying to ruin a good thing :) I love your positive attitude! Have a great week.
