On Compliments
It's amazing how many compliments a person can receive in a single day.
I don't say that to brag. I'm not sure it's something to be bragged about, because as the recipient you aren't really doing anything. It's the people who give the compliments who should be bragging.
Today, I received perhaps the best compliment so far. A whole elevator full of people, and all commented on my weight loss. Iwas starting to feel awkward about it (quit looking at me!) when one guy piped up with, "I'll keep an eye out and let you know if it looks like a strong wind is coming up. You'll probably want to tie yourself down." LOL Guys. You gotta love 'em. :)
What's the best compliment you've ever received?
Anyway, receiving so many compliments is one of the things that has helped me get this far. The sad thing is that I don't think I'm giving nearly as many as I'm receiving. That will change. I know how much they're worth to receive, and I also know how good it feels to pass them along to others.
So I commit to giving 13 compliments to people I see tomorrow. Why 13? Why, because it's Thursday tomorrow, and Thirteen on Thursday has a nice ring to it. LOL Will you join me?

And speaking of compliments: the lovely Rose has given me the Good Chat Blog Award for "People you would want to sit down over a cup of tea with and have a good Chat." How great a compliment is that! But then, I already knew she was a sweetheart, and I would love to have a good chat with her, too. (Only I'm having Diet Coke.*G*)
In the spirit of things, I'll pass the award along to a few of my favorite folks:
Selma at An Apple a Day
Irene at LoserIrene vs. the Fat Monster
Rebecca at Ready Maid on The BestLife Diet
These are all smart, funny, successful women who I would be thrilled to spend time with!
They're not the only ones, of course. If I ever can win the big lottery, I'm hosting the tea party to end all tea parties, and you're all invited! :)

What a great idea!
Yay for you and the compliments!!! The really keep me going too!! Have a great day!
You so deserve those compliments too I'm sure!
Compliments are so fun to give! Just find one thing you like about every person you look at and tell them! People LOVE it!
Thanks for reminding us to compliment more! It can really make someone's day.
And your reward is well-deserved!
It's like paying it forward, compliment wise. What a great idea! Compliments always catch me off guard, embarass me just a little, but also can really make my day.
I loved getting compliments but there were times that it was rather embarassing. I mean, did I really look that bad before? (YES!!!)
Nice story, and guys are the best because you know they're being sincere.
Yay! Thanks for the award! I haven't gotten one before!
*tear*
I am making a promise to pay-it-forward later. I have to think awhile. There are so many people I can compliment.
Yes, I think giving compliments is important and it makes me feel as good as getting them. Great idea!
Yippie for you and all the compliments you FOR SURE deserve!! Isnt it fun! Takes a bit of getting used to but its nice to hear that your hard work is "showing off" (paying off get it lol). Compliments are still a hard thing for me to take but I just suck them up and say thanks! lol
Keep up the amazing work!

You totally deserve the compliments. :-) It feels soo good to get them too, though I will admit it makes me feel a bit awkward. I never know what to say.
The ones that really make me feel good though are when people tell me I look great and then ask if I can give them some advice because they want to lose weight. I don't always (you can usually tell if they really want it or not) but I figure if they asked, they really meant the compliment. :-)
I needed the reminder to compliment others though. I forget to do that, and that's a shame because I often see people and think nice compliments...so how hard would it be to actually say those things out loud.
Thanks, Cammy, you're awesome!

Yay for compliments! And tea parties, lol. A really big tea party!! :D hey..anybody here a psychic? This gal needs the lottery numbers..hee. I want to come to that giant tea party! I like the Thursday 13 idea. Have a great day today, Thursday!! Congrats on the award. :)
I love your outlook! I keep all the professional compliments I get through emails at work in a little folder. When I'm having a discouraging day, I glance through them and feel much better. I also like to email out random compliment notes to my staff - makes me feel good to know they feel good. As a matter of fact, it's been a little while - theanks for reminding me!
:)Eva
Cammy,
You made my day today. What a great surprise it was for me to sit down and read your blog today. I would love to be able to sit down and have tea or coffee with you too.
Selma
compliments are the best, and the one yoru received is so funny! but its always nice to know that your hard work is paying off and people are noticing.
I think you've got a great idea going... I know I don't give out nearly enough and I sure do know how great they feel to receive. (Thank YOU by the way.. you always have such kind and complimenting words to say to me!).
You are so deserving of the compliments you received, Kiddo! I'm honored to know you; and please accept my apology for not having noticed that you put my name in the Chat box. How cool is that?
If you ever get to Hot Springs, Ark., you're invited to come over for tea!
You do deserve all those compliments and more...and If I win the lottery I'll host the party!
My RL has been encroaching on my blog time, but I'm finally getting caught up on your entries. I always look forward to reading them, 'cause you're full of great ideas, and this is one of them. I'm going to try 13 on Thursday next time, but I'm also going to compliment as much as possible until then.
Thanks for the reminder! Take care!
