HYC Update Week 20

Week 20???

My, how time flies...

Thank you all so much for your sweet, sweet responses to our Makeover Monday topic for this week. One thing I discovered yesterday is that the Forgiveness Declaration will be a living, breathing document. As I learn, it will grow. :)

Onto the update: you'll remember my carb-o-rama of the weekend? Well, it apparently did not cause a huge issue, because I lost 0.4 pounds for the week! While I would love to have lost more, I think I'll just smile gratefully and tippy toe away from the scale until next week. Turtle karma, indeed. :)

Let's see, what else...oh, I completed my requirements for last week's WOMAN Challenge, averaging 57 minutes of exercise per day. This week I hope to do the same, plus they threw in a bonus challenge opportunity. My challene will be to eat a fruit or vegetable I haven't eaten before. (You KNEW I'd choose the one that involved eating.LOL) I'm going with pumpkin and I'm making some sort of pumpkin spice bars.

Yes, you read that correctly: I'm cooking! (those of you who are laughing don't get any!) I'll try to remember to take pictures of the result. With any luck, they'll be delicious. If not, we can always use a good giggle.

And that's it for me. I hope you all have a healthy, happy week!

~

85 pounds lost. Wow! You're making great progress. 57 minutes of exercise a day. That sounds exhausting. I should talk. I think I do about myself.

I'm continually amazed, not only at your 85-pound progress, but also at the tremendous mental work you're accomplishing. (I just read your forgiveness post from yesterday. Mind if I use it for a ladies' study tomorrow?)

Finally, please accept my gratitude for all your supportive comments since I started HYC blogging!

I think that is incredible . . . averaging 57 mins of exercise daily.

I am printing off so many of your posts lately (I like to keep the ones handy for later inspiration reading) that you might as well get your book going.

Pumpkin bars...yum! I'm sure you'll make some fantastic creations. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about the results. Have a great week!

Karma, baby, karma! :-) Whoo-hoo!

Can't wait to hear how you do with the pumpkin. I have an awesome sugar-free pumpkin gingerbread recipe that I make with whole wheat flour...it is, quite simply, to die for. But then I love pumpkin. :-)

Congrats on the loss!

Cooking! How exciting. I love to cook. Am terrible at it, but it's still so much fun:)

Also I'm all about the carbs. They're tasty and energizing!

Great job! The Abs Diet author recommends pumpkin in smoothies. Keep making healthy choices and healthy yummy things to eat. :-)

Another good way to eat pumpkin is blend it into a smoothie with cottage cheese and some cinnamon/nutmeg.

Good going on the loss, I cannot believe how time flies either!

I have tried that pumpkin with chocolate cake mix. It was too gooey for me but if you like gooey you will love it.

57 minutes a day? Wow, I hope to get there but right now I am forcing myself to do 30. Baby steps, right?

YEah! good for you. Even with a carb fest you managed to stay on track. It just goes to show one carb fest (or chocolate orgy - in my case), does not a healthy life style ruin.

I can't wait to hear how the pumpkin bars come out. I love pumpkin! I might have to try it.

57 minutes a day is awesome. And a .4 loss is a .4 loss so celebrate it and keep going!
