HYC Update Week 21

Ooomf. Eeek. Ouch. Up a pound this week. No good reason for it, so I'm hopeful it will go the way of all unearned pounds by this time next week.

Thanks to all who made suggestions for my uber-hunger problem on Sunday. As it turns out, I think the problem wasn't the bike ride, but more that it's just my "nibbly time" and that will soon be past. Still, though, your suggestions were good, and I'll definitely start next weekend's longer ride with something a little more substantial. I think it's high time I tried this oats & peanut butter thing.

Overall, nutrition and exercise were good last week. I probably pushed the calorie limits a bit much on Sunday and Monday, but if I did, they were good calories so I'm not going to sweat it.

I hope you all had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a bright and shiny week ahead!

~

Even though I'm past the stuff that you younger girls go through the "nibbly time" still hits me too. At least that's the only suffereing I have to do now. :o)

I love your attitude and it sure has been catching on my part. Now when I show a gain and I know I've been good I don't sweat it, thanks to you.

Like you said, the scale will probably straighten itself out for us next week. Keep it up with your biking and fantastic attitude! I really appreciate all the support you give:-)

Great work! Sometiems I get really nibbly too but I figure as long as it IS healthy stuff, and I don't gorge myself, I don't have to be too worried.

Remember, the scale does not have the final say. How are you feeling? Healthy? Then hurray!

Ah, good calories vs. bad calories--the eternal struggle! I must say that most of mine this past weekend were good except for when the girls cracked out the travel snacks (have you ever had puppy chow? I LOVE that stuff!)

I know we'll both have a fantastic new week :)

You are doing a great job. We all have those up days. I had several up days this week, but ended up back at last week's weight. Go figure.

Love that phrase - "my nibbly time!" :-D

Sweet Cammy - Has anybody told you how wonderful you are lately? I mean that. Blog after blog, I read your precious commnets and think what a unique gift of encouragement you share with all of us. Thank you so much.

FYI, since I found out about my class reunion, I'm postponing my trip to Memphis. Will keep you posted.

Usually one pound up (or down) is not really a huge indicator of anything much so hope the scales are displaying better news in another 7 day's time.

Best wishes,
Sharon

I always have at least one 'hungry day' a month. This time I just let myself have it. I sat on the couch and ate 2 cups of fat free/sugar free ice cream with low fat vanilla wafers. Then I ate 45 tiny twist pretzels. When it was done, I wrote it down, tallied the points and I still didn't go over. I really felt much better. I think I actually consumed fewer points listening to what my body was craving instead of trying to talk it into something else. The funny thing is that it's not all that smart - it doesn't know that the s/f f/f ice cream isn't Ben & Jerry's full fat, or that the vanilla wafers were reduced fat. It just wanted the cool sweet creamy with the crunchy. It didn't even care that the pretzels weren't Tortilla chips - they were crunchy and salty and that seemed to appease it. Now, it IS smart enough to know the difference between salad and ice cream, or apples and chips - so there's only so much I can fool it.

It's so funny. I'm 44 years old and it seems like I'm just now learning something about how my body works. Maybe because I'm actually paying attention to it and caring for it for the first time.

Don't worry about your 1 pound gain. If you're doing what you should (which I know you are) it will all work out. You will probably sport a big loss next week. I finally got the scale to move after 3 weeks, and got a 4 pound loss. So, I'm sure you will get your loss soon too.

Have a spectacular week - and thanks for all the great support over the last week. It really means a lot.

I hate the "nibble time!!"

I'm sure this weight will drop right off next week, once things are back to normal. You've been exercising so much, it has to come off.

Cammy you always leave such lovely and wise comments, you are truly a lovely lady!!

I am going to try persuade the boys to bring me healthy stuff instead of fat laden monstrosities!

I hope your nibbly mood is well and truly over.
