Strategies for Success and Other Useful Links
Happy Friday to all...
Some Sparkpeople articles are sort of ho-hum, but I received one today that had me doing the "yesssss!" thing. Titled "5 Secrets of the 5%: What You Can Learn From Successful Dieters", the article summarizes into just a few key points the success factors of the legendary 5% of dieters [their term, not mine] who lose their weight and keep it off. What's especially neat about it is that the content reflects what many of us post about on a regular basis. Quick peek:
1) Make it public
2) Pay attention
3) Enjoy yourself
4) Make gradual changes
5) Allow yourself to fail
I'm definitely printing this one out for when I lose my way.
Another great link I found today was Prevention Magazine's My Walking Maps. I've got a couple of routes planned for bike riding this weekend, weather permitting.
Finally, just for kicks and giggles, this link from Jonathan Fields, Awake @the Wheel.
Believe it or not, that's all Chatty Cammy has for today. I hope you all have a healthy, happy weekend!

Got to work on the public thing ... I am public in blog land ... but not in my personal life. Funny isn't it?
OMG, I need my computer hooked up like that!! I think I'd spend less time on it!! I'm on Sparkpeople too, I don't spend a whole lotta time there though. I LOVE the weight / measurement charts. What you don't see in a weight loss you see in your measurements!!
Enjoy the bikerides..thanks for the info..always a good resource, Cammy!
Have a great weekend!
Those five things are excellent ideas. The HYC is one way I incorporated a simple blog into a real network of accountability. When I'm on the road, I really, really think about you guys...as if you are sitting at the table with me. Knowing that I'll come back to my hotel room and write a post makes me think twice about the foods I choose to eat.
Thanks for sharing.
What a great article. Thanks for sharing it.
Cammy thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog, thanks for sharing the wonderful tips. Hope your weekend goes well
I totally love the treadmill idea, too bad I don't own a treadmill. I read somewhere that some corporations are considering a treadmill work station for their employees to boost health and save money on health care costs. Wish my company would do that! haha
Thanks for all your encouragement! You rock!
Loved the article on the treadmill/desk. Gotta get me one of those.
Thanks for the 5 secrets to success. I may just be making it too public since I tell almost anyone how much I've lost an how much I have to go, yes even total strangers. Those are all wonderful tips, think I will print it out too. Number 3, 4 and 5 have been the hardest for me. I thought that I needed to change all at once and ended up getting really burned out and almost quit several times. I finally learned that lesson, now I really have to work on 3 and 5.
I think hose are great ways to stay on track. I think I adhere to most of them, some of the time :)
I saw that article and read it too! :)
Congratulations on your size 10 jeans! That's awesome.
Thanks, what a great article!
