Looking to the Future

One of the things that scares intrigues me about the future is how I'll adjust into a routine that allows the proper balance of nutrition and exercise for maintaining my weight. How many calories will I eat? How much exercise will I have to do? That sort of thing.

Today I took a step toward figuring it all out. I signed up for a class entitled "You Are What You Eat". (In my prior life, I guess I would've been Little Debbie Tostito, or something like that.) According to the course description, I will learn "...about types of nutrients, how much you need, functional foods, grocery shopping, meal planning, and physical activity recommendations." Among other things.

I probably know some of the material already (one would hope), but I figure it can't hurt to check this thing out and, perhaps, get some one-on-one time with a nutritionist. Besides, there might be people of the m-e-n persuasion there. :)

And of course, I'll share anything I learn! For free, too!

Good luck, Cammy. I hope to reach similar weight loss that I've read about you. Classes do help. I took a nutrition class a few years ago and it helped me to adjust my eating. The best class, however, was a belly dancing class that I signed up for a few month ago. It's fun and actually burns inches.

I look forward to visiting your blog again.

That sounds like a really cool class! But, I'm sure you already know much of the info, based on your weightloss success:-)

I think Little Debbie is the spawn of the Devil. Just last week, I had a craving for Nutty Bars-luckily they don't exist here!

Cammy, that is super-cool. Maintenance scares the heck out of me too. And you know that any men you meet at the class will be interested in being healthy, so that's one point definitely in their favor. :-)

And if you're Little Debbie Tostito, I guess I would be Ruffles McHershey. :-)

Sounds like a lot of good reasons for attending!

The class sounds interesting. Am looking forward to learning more. I am also scared of that time in my life.

If you meet any late 50ish or early 60ish men you don't want send them my way.

You guys crack me up... :D Just call me Whopper McSnackface.

Cammy, I lost weight years ago, on Nutrisystem, and didn't bother learning about maintenance. I figured, "yeah I'm done, now I can eat." Thank goodness I'm already in a different frame of mind when it comes to nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.

Share away girl!

that sounds great! I am sure you will learn a lot because as you do lose weight, then stabilize, and maintain, your body needs different things and its great to know what they are. I myself have a book that was given to me whjen LAWL closed that explains how I go about that, but if you learn something intersting, let us all know!

I loved that you added "and no, those are not my toes". That was the first thing I thought :)

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you keep going through that closet. I WOULD love to see pictures before and after though. Pretty please :)

Good luck with the class. Personally, I have read and bought over 100 Shape, Fitness, and other fitness mags that you would think I would have applied that knowledge. Take what you learn and run with it. :)
