Another Unexpected Benefit of Weight Loss

We've talked before (here and on your blogs) about the wonderfully unexpected benefits of losing weight. Things like fitting in a restaurant booth, or a classroom desk chair. I'm here to report another one:

BOOTS! I can wear boots! These boots, in particular.

I've had boots in the past but suffered the well-known "muffin top" effect (think Pillsbury Dough-girl) and avoided them as much as possible.

I must say, with completely annoying (and yet, oddly enjoyable) immodesty, that my legs look mah-velous in these boots and my blue jeans. My iPhone was on 5% power, so I couldn't snap a photo.

My next frontier: a belt. I've never owned a belt. Not as an adult, anyway. The idea kind of terrifies me. :)

I'm pleased to report that the Cammy-do list was annihilated this weekend. Plus, I completed a few things I hadn't intended. The weather has been great, so I worked in frequent sunshine-y breaks amongst the errands and chores. Just a couple of small things left, then the last thing on the list: a nice hot bubble bath! Ahhhh...

The one thing I didn't get done this weekend was blog surfing, but I hope to reconcile that post-bath (if I'm not all noodle-y.) Hope you all had a great weekend!

I still have trouble wearing boots that go high up on the calf as mine are still quite big and solid. I do want to go shopping for a pair to wear this summer...sexy black boots!

Sounds like a nice way to end the day, with a hot bath!

LOVE boots. But I have trouble wearing a lot of them- my calves are usually too big. Rock those boots!

Yay, the boots are real cute. So glad you can wear them now. Me? I hate boots. I'd rather wear clogs, something I can slip on and off easily. When the snow gets up to the inside of my clogs I just don't go ouside :o)

Darn girl... I thought you were going to say HEELS!!!! To me, losing weight meant a much easier time on heels. Anywho...I do have a pair of knee high boots that I can now wear because I lost weight. Woot. I'll hold off on that belt though :)

You're a terrific cheerleader!

I know what you mean about boots--I have a really sexy pair, all I need is somewhere to wear them ;)

As for belts--I hate wearing them because they're extra work!

Wearing a fun pair of calf-length boots without feeling like the circulation in my legs is being cut off is definitely one of the things I'm looking forward to as I lose weight.

I love the pair you showed. Very cute.

I'm always amazed at how much you get done on the weekends. I'd love to hear how you fit everything in. It might be fun to do a blog post about a "Saturday in the life of Cammy" or something like that.

As always, you're an inspiration. I love your blog and your supportive comments on mine.

Shoes are a fabulous reason to lose weight!

My name is Dawn Wellington and I work for a company that invented a weight loss product (Mary Lou’s Weigh) that recently became available to the public. I’d love to send it to you (for free) to get your feedback on the product. However, if you’re part of the minority of women who likes to know how much you weigh, this product isn’t for you. Please read below for details. I look forward to hearing from you.

About Mary Lou’s Weigh:
Mary Lou’s Weigh (named after Mary Lou Retton, Olympic Gold Medalist) is a revolutionary new way for people to track their weight in a non-judgmental way. While Mary Lou’s Weigh resembles a bathroom scale, it’s entirely different -- it never tells you how much you actually weigh. The platform logs your weight and only tells you how much weight you’ve lost or gained. It keeps you aware of what’s working so you can respond before you gain, unlike the “pants method” (track your weight loss or gain by how your pants fit). Mary Lou’s Weigh helps keep your eye on a positive goal. It gives you proven, actionable advice each day and it’s easy to use.

The Mary Lou’s Weigh Platform motivates and guides you through an achievable 10-pound weight loss with audible feedback (yes, that’s Mary Lou Retton talking to you), including music, applause, fun electronic tones, helpful health tips, positive reinforcement and daily messages of encouragement. After the 10-pound goal is achieved, the Platform resets automatically so you can either maintain your weight, or go for another 10 pounds.

For more information, go to www.marylousweigh.com.

Thanks! -Dawn
