The Heat is On (and a PB2 Giveaway)

Now seems a good time to remind everyone of the importance of taking extra care in exercising in the summer heat. For some good tips (if I do say so myself), check out this Makeover Monday post from last year: The Hot Body You Don't Want.

Yes, you've likely guessed it was a little warm and humid in Memphis today. Between a 3-mile walk and some yard work, I must've lost 17 pounds in sweat! (Y'all think I'm kidding, but if tomorrow's weigh in shows me down 17 pounds, I'm going straight to Olive Garden for some chicken parmigiana! :))

But enough about me! The REAL reason I popped in here was to announce a giveaway! Yaaay!

Y'all remember when I barged in on visited PB2HQ (a.k.a. Bell Plantation ) back in May? Digest: I was surprised that the workers did NOT in fact wear halos, despite the high esteem in which we hold them and their tasty products. Well, it turns out it must've been some casual Friday thing, because those zany folks have surprise-gifted us with a case of PB2. If that's not angelic, I don't know what is!

Since there's not quite enough for me to send some to everyone, we'll have the customary drawing for winners. FOUR winners, to be precise! Ooohh! Ahhh!

The Rules:
1) Unfortunately, this one is USA only. (Sorry, global readers. Please remember I adore you; I just can't afford you right now.)

2) To enter the drawing, all you have to do is leave me a comment describing two things you did recently that were good for you. One should start with the letter 'P' and one should start with the letter 'B'. (Get it? PB2! How deliciously corny!)

2a) If rule (2) should prove too difficult, choose any letters you want.

2b) If life has been really crappy lately, and you haven't done anything good for you, just leave me a comment promising me you'll do something TODAY, no matter what letter it starts with.

3) I'll leave the contest open until Thursday night (midnight, central US) and announce the winners on Friday a.m.

4) Each winner will receive 2 jars of PB2 and 1 jar of Chocolate PB2.

Feel free to spread the word. The more the merrier!

Good luck...and have fun!

~

I feel guilty looking at another one of your contests...so don't hate me...but I had a great workout tonight and those are my two things
P: Plenty of water - about 100 ozs today!
B: Burpees...100 of them....I can show you a video...they are the devil!
The idea of powdered PB intrigues me!

Hi Cammy, I've never had PB2 but I do suffer from a severe peanut butter addiction so I assume this would be a win-win here if my number comes up! Two things I've done for myself: (1)Parted ways with my misconception that I'd forever more be stuck with the last 10 pounds on my hips and (2) By-passed the cookie dough in the freezer this evening reaffirming the commitment made in (1)!

Begrudgingly woke up at 5 am to go to boot camp!

P ut myself first: these past few days have been stressful, and yesterday I took some "me" time. I made time for my exercise, made a point of eating right (even though I didn't feel like eating at all) and got enough sleep (finally).

B een to the pool: yup, even though I felt tense and tired, I headed out to the pool. At the end of the workout the painful tightening in the back of my neck was gone, and I felt a lot more mobile after working out and stretching.

I've been dying to try this stuff and of course can't find it in Memphis!

P--Portion control. After a wake-up call from trying on my favorite dress that is not so cute on me anymore, I'm buckling down and ditching these 10-12 pounds I've put on since moving here. I've been measuring and weighing my foods.

B- Breakfast! I bought cereal(yum, Kashi) to keep at the boyfriend's apt for when I stay there. This keeps me from buying something at Starbucks.

Oh, I hope I win! I've never won a giveaway.

P acked my gym bag before work so I could go straight there afterwards - and worked out for an hour!
B acked away from the wine that was left-over from my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party, even though it looked really delicious and refreshing after that work-out!
I am a serious Peanut butter addict - I gave it up for Lent this year and it was the hardest thing to do, because I made my sons lunches everyday and PB&J is all they'll take to school. I've never had of PB2 before but I've come out of lurking on your site to possibly win a jar. Thanks!

Behaved myself on this over the top Beef Binging weekend, By Pre-Planning my Portions. (3 B's and 3 P's)

There, that should do it!!!

Hey Cammy! Great contest you have going - never have tried the PB2 but I read how great it is almost everyday. Lets seeee what I have done good this week:
Pedaled 10 miles on the bike at the gym Monday.
Barely made it 3 miles around the neighborhood while I was jogging yesterday. (training for a 1/2 marathon is rough!! bleaah!!)

Nothin' like working up a great sweat during the hot summer months!!

Well Cammy, I'll pass on this one since I just got 3 jars of PB2 and 1 Chocolate PB2. Great give away though, I hope people win that haven't tried it. They are in for a treat.

I have never, ever heard of PB2 but I just looked at the Nutritional Info...Oh My Goodness...if it tastes anywhere near the usual peanut butter I think I'll be totally sold. ;)

Okay, 2 things...
P for park - just took the kids yesterday & we all ran around playing tag.

B for bubble bath - I'm indulging in one tonight.

Hey, Cammy. No need to enter since since I won the PB2 over at MizFit BUT I thought this was such a cool thing so:

P: PROVIDED my mind & body with much needed rest by doing not much last weekend per that post of mine

B: Boe health.. always doing my weight training to keep the bones healthy

Hmm...never tried PB2 but I read about it on Hungry Girl, so now I have to enter the contest! As for two things I've tried that are good for me....

P: partaking in new and old activities. I am still running and ellipticalling, but now I added jump rope, rowing, and weight training into the mix.
B: biking! I take spin at least once or twice a week now, and my legs can definitely tell the difference!

This is hard...

P- plentiful produce... I did a quick grocery shop and only bought produce, living the green life hahaha

B- But nothing... I made no excuses today. Usually I'm a "OK, but..." kind of girl, not today!

And you know if I get that PB2 I'll be a happy happy girl!

Never tried the PB2, can't believe the calories saved in that product. So, I'm into your contest, and thanks for having it for us. Linda

Park walk for two hours with Cosmos, my Jack Russel Terrier ...and he ain't easy to keep up with!

Burned calories and some muscle with personal trainer at Snap Fitness twice this week...so far.

Okay, here we go:

P: Pushed myself to go to the gym on Monday when I really didn't feel like going.
B: Believe in myself today even though I had a gain - I know I can do this!

But Cammy, OMG, was it ridiculous yesterday or what? I kept begging for someone to turn the humidity down but no one would. I'm pretty sure I sweated out a few pounds too.

What a great idea for a contest, thanks for sharing with us!

P-packed a healthy lunch of Smart Ones fettuccini alfredo along with some steamed broccoli to mix in (at least it's healthier than going out for burgers)

B-brought along some good snacks for this afternoon - an apple and some raw cauliflower

Pain - Working through it even when you don't feel like continuing. The physical, mental, and emotional pain often leads me to quit, but I know that I need to work through it instead of eating my way out of it.

Blog - There is no doubt in my mind that blogging has helped me out tremendously. When I feel like working out, I think of a blogger who walks even though she has knee problems. When I want to quit, I think of all the bloggers who have lost weight despite all the issues that they deal with. The blogging friends that I have made is priceless and it has become one of the biggest tools for me in my weight loss and my mental health.

I hadn't heard about PB2 before reading about it in your blog- it sounds fantastic! Here's my P&B:
Played Wii Fit for 40 minutes- the advanced Hula Hoop is a killer!
Built fitness into my schedule by walking one mile to the market instead of taking the car.
Thanks for offering this giveaway!

I love Peanut Butter and really want to try this PB2. If I don't win, where can I purchase it?

As for the contest, these are my two things:

P: Finding PEACE that comes along with the fact that I am actually trying to lose weight. When I decide I don't care what I weigh or what I eat, I am never at peace because I always know deep down that I really need to lose weight

B: I'm BACK! I am back on schedule, back going to the gym, and back trying to make eating healthy a lifestyle and not a diet or a quick fix.

Thanks for having us all think about two things we are doing. It is great reading all the other comments!
