Too Pooped To Post
Some rest days sneak up on you and others slam into your body demanding to be heard. I'll give you one guess which one I'm experiencing today.
I don't think my challenge workout is the culprit. The second day of the workout went well. I'm not only enjoying the challenge program, but the secondary workout is proving to be fun as well. I do see trouble on the horizon in that squats, in abundance, are boring to do. I'm going to try moving into the TV area of the gym on Friday in hopes that there will be something on there worth watching while I squat, squat, squat.
I suspect the reason for my fatigue is the walking I've been doing, or more precisely the HEAT in which I've been walking. We're in the mid-90s in temps now and with our ugly humidity, I'm just drained after a walk. It was a struggle to stay up past sunset last night!
So today I rest. If there's any walking to be done, it will be at stroll pace. That's really difficult for me now as I have so much more energy and tend to zip everywhere. :)
Before I zip--I mean, stroll-- out of here, I'll remind you of the storypeople giveaway. Tonight's the deadline, so go put your name in the hat if you're interested!
Have a wonderful day!

I hear you on this tired stuff! I have been tempted to take some days off myself from both blogging & exercise but have not yet.. soon though. I have major hormone issues going on & I think some if it is that for me BUT I relate! Enjoy your rest! Congrats on your workouts!
As it heats up outside, I tend to slow down. Congrats on being able to fight through the workouts. A day of strolling probably will do you good, both mentally and physically. Enjoy the leisurely walk. Then get back at it!!!!
I'm sure you know that hydration is key! So make sure you drink plenty of water... Hope you feel better today!
Squats are boring... what I've been doing is pushup set, situp set, squat set, repeat. It keeps the heart rate up and I am happy to do the squats because the longer I'm there... the longer it is before I have to do those dreaded pushups again! Lol
I hear you on the heat factor! We are having high 90's with no rain in the forecast. At least when I'm riding I feel a breeze!
Take care and rest today!
The heat TOTALLY does it. I was wiped at 7pm every night in Cambodia. Enjoy your rest :)
I felt pretty wiped out after doing a 20 mile ride yesterday. Felt fine on the bike but after - T I R E D. Just one of those days.
I got an IPOD yesterday as a reward for reaching my goal weight. Now, I've got to learn how to download podcasts and music. This is going to inspire more walking.
Hope you feel perkier today.
I totally feel you on the tired thing and definitely feel like the heat is the main reason. I walked out of the office today at 1 and almost melted onto the street. I hate when its this hot. I can't even go outside without getting sweaty and feeling wiped. Ugh!
I am tired just reading this. I hear ya. I think it is the weather. We have had rain here 14 days in a row.
Sure hope you aren't overdoing it out in the heat Cammy. When I walked out this morning, it smelled like St. Simon's Island to me. It's just so hot and humid, I thought I was near the South Georgia coast. It took me 5 times as long to cut the grass this week because I kept coming in for water breaks.
I don't know where y'all live, but it doesn't often break out of the 60s here. Yesterday was also my day of rest, so I went on a three mile stroll in the morning, then drove to a nearby mountain for views, another 2-3 mile walk, and the pleasure of wearing sandals and short sleeves until dark without freezing. Town where I ate dinner: 77F. My town: 60F.
The heat will definitely do that to you. I can relate! Its still almost 90 degrees a dusk when I want to do my running...bleah! It puts a strain on things for sure, but a break is nice once in a while!
You have to be seriously careful of the heat. What was the statistic I was reading that just 3% dehydration can cause up to 30% drop in performance.
Oh, I just do not do well in humidity. So glad we left San Antonio for the mountains of Colorado. Our bodies do tend to tell us when they need a rest. I've been easing into some weight lifting and hope to start cardio again today with a walk on the treadmill.
Path to Health
You know we can overdue it Cammy, workouts and walking that is. Perhaps with the heat, you may be a little dehydrated too. Have you thought about having some electrolyte drinks to perk you back up. Couldn't hurt in that heat, right? Linda
