Let the Festivities...End
This may look like fireworks, but it's actually an action shot of me exploding after an abundance of celebrating.I was doing okay until my grandmother trotted out homemade (still warm) banana pudding. You don't get an opportunity to have homemade (still warm) banana pudding every day. At least, I don't. Thank God. It was yummy, but it put me over the edge.
Thank goodness I got in an hour's walk early this a.m. I certainly wasn't fit for it after dinner.
Actually, this photo is one I snapped a couple decades ago (egads!) in a local celebration. The bridge you see, with lights vaguely forming an M for Memphis, crosses the Mississippi River. Tennessee is on the right; Arkansas is on the left. And that's it for the travelogue.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and/or Saturday! I certainly enjoyed mine, but it's back to business as usual tomorrow. I predict leafy green vegetables in abundance for me. :)

LMAO!!!!! really, I did!!!!
Your first sentence, Cammy ... hilarious!
I'm still lol-ing while I write this ;)
I have never had the pleasure of(still warm) banana pudding or even (cold) banana pudding. :(
and Wow ... great photo that you took.
mmmmm...you had me at warm banana pudding! ;)
Great picture! Happy Fourth of July, Cammy!
Banana pudding sounds delicious! That's a great photo!
I hear ya with the abundance thing. My mom made homemade rice pudding....so good. Happy 4th.
With 'Nilla wafers and everything?? One of my favorite childhood memories...arriving to Granny's house on Sunday afternoon, knowing that a serving of *warm* banana pudding was in my immediate future. THIS is why God made bananas.
OMG, that banana pudding sounded fantastic! I would have gone for that!!!! I settled for my normal weekend cookies! That did me fine & was off for my morning jog early before it got warm.
Great pic & glad you had a good one!
I predict the same for myself as well :)
glad you enjoyed yourself.
God bless Grandmas and their good food! It's all balance anyway!
I think you're allowed an indulgence every now and then. Especially one that's a treat like that. Like Kathy said, it is all about balance.
Sigh...I've been indulging way too much as well. Time to end the slackness and get back on track I think!
i'm with you on the leafy green vegetables! planning on making tomorrow's lunch tonight so i have no excuses.
I'm so glad to know there is something you could not resist. When I arrived at my sister's home she told me that her oven had gone out. In my mind I was thinking "good no peach cobbler", but she assured me her grandson was making it. DANG!! It was good! However, today starts a new week and I'm ready for it.
Oh gosh! Banana pudding... yum! One grandma does (700 kcal a teeny slice) pound cake, the other arroz con leche (a rice pudding) so I understand! But you gotta love it, as long as it's only a few times a year :)
I laugh that banana pudding and doritos are two things Ill never get!
I can totally pass on those.
UNLESS, as happened to me one time, the aforementioned pudding has CHOCOLATE CHIPS BURIED IN IT.
<3
see.. banana pudding has NO appeal to me. but I get ya. Saturday was a write-off for me too, but i had the BEST day. My mantra today, is some of the best advice I got at my WW meeting on Saturday. We eat 35 meals per week (if you count having 2 planned snacks) If you're not doing WW..same deal.
If you blow ONE meal ... is your whole week a write off? Are you a failure? Or do you say.. "yum, that was DELISH!!" and move on...
this is for life. We need to learn to how to live, and incorporate the occasional banana puddings (gag) or wine & cheese parties (my downfall) or Dill pickle chips. lol. GREAT post. great pics.
enjoy your leafy greens today!
