Up On The Roof

If you’re looking for me today, that’s where I’ll be: up on the roof. (And yes, now I’ll be humming that song all day, trusting I sound like Her Royal Highness, Carole King.)

It’s a functional exercise day for me with gutter cleaning, leaf raking/bagging/hauling and general home spiffying. I predict 3 or 4 hours, which should be enough to replace my 45-minute normal Friday gym workout. I’m counting on it anyway.

Before I head outdoors, I thought I might share these handy links from (my future employer) The Food Network on how we can lighten up holiday cooking:

I also offered my Highly Informative and Fascinating advice on the subject in this post:

You know, just in case you were thinking of bringing a lighter dish to the potluck. Not that you have to; we like decadent recipes, too! Especially since we’re only reading them. :)

Speaking of the potluck, I’d like to thank Tami (Nutmeg Notebook), Lori (Finding Radiance), and Sahar (FatFighterTV) for stopping by with some yummy recipes for the table!

If you’re worried about being late to the party, stop! We have the whole month of December for sharing!

And now…to the roof! Here’s hoping I don’t fall and break my leg because a) I don’t have health insurance and b) it would hurt like hell!

Wishing you all a safe and wonderful weekend!

  1. Be careful! I worry every time my husband gets up there. Not long ago he was doing something on the roof when he was insulating the attic and I had to leave the house so I told my son to please listen for screams of pain!

  2. thank you, thank you for the substitute baking links. I’ve always wondered how stevia would work instead of sugar and both links proved extremely helpful. Hope you’re safe and sound and back on the ground!

  3. Cammy, you are amazing doing all that stuff! AND, I so understand no health insurance. It sucks!

Hey, can I share another person’s recipe for your potluck if I give the link of that person’s post on it.. I don’t want to steal & not tell! 😉

  4. Be careful up there! And I think it should TOTALLY count as your exercise day – I’m always super sore after a raking outside day!

  5. I hope you enjoy yourself up there on the roof, Cammy! Eeek….you’re braver than me! House cleaning (of all sorts) is indeed great functional exercise, I agree. Am sure it will make up for any missed gym workouts! Stay safe!
