Happy 2011! Is it just me or does it seem like it was yesterday we were running around wringing our hands over Y2K?
I’m off to a great start for the year. I was at the gym at 7:30 a.m. (along with at least 4 or 5 other people) New Year’s Day where I had a most marvelous workout. It feels so good to start my year out moving my body!
Good thing I’m getting all this great exercise, because the New Year’s Day weigh-in was less than spectacular. These here tippy toes are outside the acceptable weight range and into the Red Zone. I do believe this is the first time that’s happened in two years, and while a small part of this little gain might be attributable to hormones, part of it is cookie residue Thank goodness I kept up the exercise all through the holidays!
When I saw the number on the scale, I kind of wished I had taken up the EatSmart Products team’s offer last month to send me a shiny NEW scale to review. It might have shown me to be within range. But no-o-o-o, since I already reviewed an EatSmart Bathroom scale that still works perfectly fine, it didn’t seem right to take another one, so I declined. Besides, if this NEW scale is anything like my old one it would just show my weight to be exactly what it is: too much.
And when they offered to send me an EatSmart digital kitchen scale instead, I had to decline that, since I just bought one of those last month. Y’all remember, I told you all about it.
And then, do you know what the EatSmart team said? They said, “That’s okay. Why don’t we give away a scale to one of your readers?”
And do you know what I said? Okay, well, I guess the post title kind of gave it away. For the slow: I said YES!
Oooh, shiny! It’s the EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale w/ Extra Large Backlit 3.5″ Display and “Step-On” Technology. (I have the old-fashioned “kick-start” technology, which means I have to tap it with my heel to get it going.) You can check out the product particulars and the stellar reviews on Amazon. (This is EatSmart’s affiliate link, from which they will donate 100% of the December 2010 and January 2011 proceeds to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.)
So if you’re in the U.S. (sorry international folks) and interested in possibly owning a SHINY!, fancy-schmancy scale that doesn’t require a kick-start and is very consistent and reliable (even if it does tell you your real weight), all you have to do is leave me a comment *promising* you won’t be hopping off and on the thing a dozen times a day. Without the kick-start, you’re not burning extra calories, so there’s really no point. I’ll draw the winning name on Thursday
