Uncross your fingers; extinguish those prayer candles; cancel the hard target search—I have found the missing brown sugar canister. You’ll never guess where it was! On the ‘baking shelf’ of my pantry! Of all places!
In my defense, the bag clippie was blocking my view. Plus, I would have sworn the canister had a blue top, so I was searching with that mindset.
There’s a lesson in here somewhere (besides the one about the importance of organization in the pantry). The answers to our problems might be right in front of us; they just may not look exactly like we thought they would.
Okay, okay. Clearly, I am one step away from assisted living. It’s probably best if I share a couple of interesting links from the week and then totter off to take some Geritol.

Do you remember the new year’s resolutions you set at the beginning of this year? What are they? How are you faring in them right now? If you’re like most people, chances are you’ve long abandoned those goals. Some of you may not even recall what goals you have set. Which is unfortunate, because goal setting works; it has never failed anyone. The only reason why goals would stop working is because the person who has set the goals, i.e. you, chose to give up on them mid-way.
I tend to have too many projects going at once without much progress going on any of them, so they had me at #1 – Focus on 1-3 Goals

Keeping your produce fresh begins at the store. As a former produce stocker, I can tell you that most grocery stores use a variety of tricks to keep profit margins high and the waste to a minimum. If you know what to look for, then you can be sure to pick fruits and veggies that will have a longer shelf life at home.
