Who Says the Treadmill is Boring?

Breezing through to thank you for the shoulder pats. Slowly but surely, I’m getting caught up on my to-do list, even with a few more wild cards thrown in. I got in a good strength training workout yesterday, but today’s gym cardio got dumped in favor of raking and bagging leaves–almost three hours worth. My back is telling me that it will require some pain reliever tonight. I’ll finish the backyard tomorrow and that should be the last of the leaf bagging for the year. I can just mulch the rest of them. Yaay!

I’ve declared myself officially “off-duty” for the night and am looking forward to catching up with my blog reader tonight…right after dinner. (Or probably during dinner. :)) Before I sign off here, though, I wanted to point you in the direction of an amazing video I just saw:

I don’t know why Yahoo has classified this as “comedy”–it sings unmitigated JOY to me! (Just watching the video makes me happy!) I enjoy working out, but this woman ENJOYS working out. In addition to being a good dancer (something I’m not, she’s taken one of the most despised pieces of gym equipment and come up with a way to make it fun! And isn’t it wonderful that she’s all in her own world and just doing her thing without worrying what anyone else is thinking. Go, DanceMill Woman!

And how much do I love the commentary of the guys filming her? They’re clearly impressed and with good reason!

Wishing you all a weekend of FUN and JOY!

And if you try any dancemilling, please be careful. :)

  1. Now that is impressive treadmilling! I do well to stand erect just walking, nevermind styling like that woman. Wow!

  2. Glad you’re taking the night off! Its good to hear that raking bothers someone else’s back!

That dancer was cool–almost looked like ice skating.

  3. Wow! That is some crazy dance moves on the treadmill! I was just doing a warmup earlier today on the treadmill and nearly fell off as it was! :)

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Holy cow! That is one of the greatest things I have seen! And I am so happy that the guys aren’t bushing her, they sound generally in awe – and so am I! Thank you for sharing!

  5. I have good health insurance, but not good enough for me to attempt something like this! LOL! Our power went out once while I was on my treadmill and I fell off of it! Clumsy is my middle name! Fun, fun, video. My question is, will YOU be trying this???? It would be one way to make bagging leaves more entertaining to both you and the neighbors!

  6. What a great idea! I do not like the treadmill, but it is useful in case of rain or hot summer. But this is a very different exercise altogether!

  7. That video really is great. The music I listen to isn’t conducive to such conduct. I need a little Fosse-esque choreography for treadmill dancing! Love it! Be sure to share a video with us of your first attempt at dance milling.

  8. I saw this video Cammy & loved it! I remember commenting about how I loved ow much fun she was having & how I would probably hurt myself! 😉 Very cool!!!

Hope your back recoups from the yard work!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  9. I don’t think I could ever have that kind of balance and coordination! I find pretty much all exercise boring except for walking by the ocean and dancing. A new studio just opened in my neighborhood a couple of weeks ago, so I’ll be trying Zumba very soon!

  10. that is one of the coolest things I;ve ever seen!!! She should stasrt her own school. How do you even learn that?
    I love hte commentary too.
