Well That Was Fun

One of the things that irritates me about Christmas is that after all the build-up, it’s over in a flash. Quicker than a flash, really.

I did have a lovely holiday with the family. I was 2.5-for-4 on my contributions to the meals and snacking. They loved the Award Winning Fruit Salad, the toffee, and the regular sausage balls, but lukewarm on the low-carb sausage balls and the chocolate peppermint loaves. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. I liked all of it. :)

One of the nicest gifts I got was snow on Christmas!

snow-topped shrubs with red berries

We only got a dusting here in Memphis, but it was enough to be pretty without being messy.

Unfortunately, the same front that brought the snow brought frigid temps with it. Brr-r-r! Walking Sally, who doesn’t seem to understand that some of us don’t have a thick coat of fur to keep us warm when it’s 27°, was torturous, but not without a side benefit. As you know, I’m the type who only runs when chased by something scary, but I did run for a few stretches yesterday. Cold weather HIIT!

My goals for the rest of the week are to continue contemplating my goals and intentions for the new year and to continue tinkering with WordPress. I managed to install it on my computer, so I can experiment there instead of blowing up my blog. :) It’s fun, but time-consuming since I have to google almost every single thing I want to do. It would be nice if I understood the answers. LOL

But tonight I’m going to back away from the code and catch up on blogs. Yay!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are enjoying the “between week”. Do you spend this week contemplating/finalizing your goals for the new year?

  1. That is a lovely snow shot. We now have 10x that much here LOL!

I am working on a 2012 in review post that I hope to get up this year some time 😀 Seemed like a year of home improvement for us.

  2. We had a white Christmas here along with some cold, cold temperatures.

I’m working on my intentions for next year – I’ve started with a long list, but I am winnowing it down to something manageable (and rememberable – because memorable just isn’t the right word).

  3. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Even cold for us in southern CA but no snow where I am. :)

I don’t do resolutions but I have goals in mind.. I don’t get all caught up in it though. If life changes then I change & don’t get down on myself. Did that too much when I was younger & still a recovering negative self talker! 😉

YEAH, the comment luv worked! :) You are doing good! Braver than me!

  4. Glad you liked all the goodies you made Cammy! That snow photo is beautiful. I hate cold weather – it would make me run as well. At least you got out and got some exercise to counter the extra goodies.

I haven’t thought about goals for next year -right now I’m just trying to heal and recover from surgery.

  5. Hi Cammy. So glad you enjoyed the holidays!!!! Love the snow picture (and the puppy picture on the previous post) Best wishes from me to you for the rest of the holidays, and for a great 2013!!!!

  6. We’re getting hammered with snow right now, actually. And each time we get it, it’s a surprise because we weren’t supposed to get any! It’s beautiful, though. We get Lake Effect snow so it’s always big and fluffy.
I am spending this week getting ready for my gratitude jar challenge and a few other things that I need to get myself in full gear for the first. Looking forward to the new year~

  7. That snowy picture made me giggle, seeing as we have had several feet of snow. I think I prefer your version! :)

Glad to be back in the blogging world, and looking forward to sharing 2013 with you :)
