Vylet3’s image first caught my eye with it’s interesting color composition and typography, and then the words hit me in my heartstrings. They’re not only true for body image, but for a whole host of other life areas as well.
I thought about this quote several times yesterday as I moved about my day. Every time I looked at something (my house, my neighborhood, my poor winter yard, my bank account), I focused on noticing what was right about it. And as it turned out, there was a lot of rightness going on. I just needed to change what I saw. (Still need to to a bit of work on that bank account thing.)
Anyway, since it resonated with me so strongly, I thought I’d share it with you. Just in case you’re in need of a vision check this morning.

Kale Cube Update
The kale cubes are a resounding success! After this morning’s workout, I had what I’m calling a Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie, so named because it has cottage cheese in it!
I’m sure I didn’t originate this concept, but I sure did enjoy it! And based on the ingredients I used, it came in at less than 150 calories with 15 or so grams of protein.
You remember a few weeks ago when I began
playing with using the functional eccentric trainer and set my first goal to be three 1-minute sessions? Well, as of last week, I met the goal! I do one set facing forward and then one set facing left and then right. For some reason, I can let go when I’m facing right, but not when I do the other sets. I’m thinking it has something to do with foot placement on the platform. I’ll be working on that.
I went to an area park for one of my walks yesterday, and when I opened my car door to get out, he popped up on the running board! I sat on the curb and petted him for a few minutes–he was so thin!–and even scrounged up a couple of wheat crackers from my glove box, which he turned up his nose at, of course. When I got up to walk, he walked with me. If I slowed down, he would wrap around my ankles a couple of times and then run forward. We did that for a couple hundred yards. I hadn’t checked his “particulars”, but since he was wearing a blue collar (no ID tag!), I named him Bob Harper. Eventually he wandered off, which is probably okay, because I might have had a cat roommate if he hadn’t.
That’s all the news from me today! My inbox runneth over, so I’d better get busy! Happy Monday!
