Winners…in More Ways Than Pasta

Awesome recipes offered as part of the Barilla Pasta Pack Giveaway! Thank you!

And a special thank you to those of you who helped me feel better about my dinner tonight, which is Barilla Protein Plus pasta and marinara sauce from a jar. :)

The randomly chosen winners of their very own Barilla pasta packs were Bonnie and Stalker Judy. Interestingly enough, they both use turkey sausage in their pasta recipes! I’d never thought of doing that, maybe because I’ve never eaten turkey sausage. Or sausage in any meat sauce. I might get daring and give it a try in the near future. (Bonnie & Judy, I’ll be sending you an email. If you don’t receive it, feel free to contact me.)

Bonnie and Judy weren’t the only winners this week! They’re just the only ones who got pasta. :) The rest of us have to settle for other kinds of victories, and I’d like to start a semi-regular feature of highlighting a few victories I read about during the week. I’m calling it…

rockstars of the week from tippytoediet

First up, I’d like to welcome Susan of Food, Fitness, Life to the wonderful world of Onederland! Susan had weight loss surgery several months ago and hasn’t had an easy time of it. But she hung in there and look what happened! Congratulations, Susan!

My other RockStar of the Week is Julie of Half a Julie. Julie is a new blogger who has gotten off to an amazing start this year, adding all sorts of healthy activities and actions to her daily life, but what impresses me most is that’s she’s able to see that progress isn’t all about the scale numbers. (Even before the scale was extremely kind to her this week! :) ) Way to rock it, Julie!

If you have a moment, visit these two rock stars’ blogs and give them some applause!

And then there were the rest of us. Obviously, I can’t list everyone who’s rocking it, but there’s nothing that says we can’t give ourselves a pat on the back. Who wants to go first?

Okay, I will! :) I rocked the exercise this week and semi-rocked the nutrition, despite a work trip that had me looking at these on every single table:

Where’s my medal?

Your turn! What did you rock this week?

  1. I love the Rockstar idea and look forward to finding some new blogs to support. I’ll check out both of these as I’m not familiar with either. Yeah, I’m a rock star……managed to make the trek safely up I-75 between Chattanooga and Knoxville actually STAYING on the road when everyone else was either in a ditch, the median or t-boned in another car. Scared? You better believe it – this southern girl does NOT drive in the snow. And this star also managed to lose all her December “sick” weight while in Florida! Yippee1

  2. Thanks for the shout out! I have really appreciated the time you’ve taken to not only stop by my blog, but post encouraging words!

    • One of the neat things about blogging is that we get to share in others’ successes. It’s especially rewarding for those of us who are waiting for you at the goal line, because we get to celebrate all over again! I’m so happy you’re sharing your journey, and I’m looking forward to watching you SOAR!

  3. I totally rocked this week! Yesterday I logged 4 miles on the treadmill – the longest I’ve walked since my surgery last year! Woot!!
